Context

The resource will integrate the Global Client Software Packaging team.

The team receives requests for packaging (creation/modification/removal of application such as Adobe, Microsoft, MacAfee, CA, SAP etc), and is expected to deliver high quality packages in a timely manner, following packaging standards and guidelines provided by the client. Packages have to be configured in the Software Distribution system, LANDesk, after obtaining the sign-off from the designated application owner.

Responsibilities

Individual responsibilities include taking accountability end-to-end for each assigned package, namely:

-        do the technical design of the package,

-        do the package, potentially including application virtualization depending on technical design validated by the client,

-        test the package (unit test and technical test),

-        put the package in LANDesk, ready for distribution,

-        prepare the sign-off environment for the package,

-        organize the sign-off,

-        provide feedback on status of the packages assigned,

-        escalate issues to the team leader,

Desired skills

Technical skills

degree in a computer-related field

General IT software knowledge, including IT Productivity applications and middleware

Extensive knowledge of packaging software, such as AdminStudio or InstallShield

Knowledge of a package virtualization technology, VMWare ThinApp preferred

Knowledge of a software distribution system, LANDesk preferred

General  skills

- Experience in multi-cultural environments,

- understanding of IT Operations, management of availability, performance and security

- Good oral & written communication, and an ability to work effectively as part of a team

- Hands-on, pragmatic approach, problem solving attitude

- An ability to work in a proactive way

- Fluent English is required
