This position is responsible for ensuring quality delivery of ongoing Services and the critical systems are properly running. The group is responsible for both customer-facing enterprise applications and services.
Responsibilities:
This role is responsible for managing Service delivery and support to make sure Service Level Agreements, and customer satisfaction targets are met. This person will be also responsible for implementing various optimization and tools as well as for contributing to a scalable platform. Her/His day-to-day operational activities will be focused on ensuring software and hardware availability requirements are met.
This professional will join a talented team of engineers who build our industry-leading, highly scalable, carrier-grade platforms. Will need to effectively interface with other IT Service Management processes involved with coordination activities of submitting trouble tickets, knowledge of software production release schedules
Other responsibilities:
-Oversee the monitoring and performance of all service to ensure maximum uptime and overall performance/efficiency. Capacity monitoring and management
-Policy, practice and procedural implementations based on best-practice IT management
-Interface with customers/internal staff on problem resolution, project management and security auditing
-Manage change-control processes and schedule installation of new or updated services in the production, staging and development environments.
-Assume day-to-day management of staff including shift scheduling, development assessment and training
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or equivalent
-At least seven years solid experience in managing a data center environment for a multisite organization
-Knowledge of professional software practices
-Working experience with common IP-based application protocols - e.g., HTTP, FTP, SMTP, POP3 and distributed Systems.
-Effective written and verbal communication skills
-Ability to write operations and support documentation
-Strong team player and independent contributor
-Good working knowledge of network concepts and hardware (i.e. Routers, servers, switches, VLANS, F5 Load balancer, etc.)
-Experience diagnosing problems, building distributed server environments, conducting system repairs and understanding Disaster Recovery plans/strategies.
-Working knowledge/proficiency in basic operation of SQL Server
-Through understanding of web technologies (AJAX, SOAP, JEE)
-Strong and demonstrable problem-solving and analysis skills.
-Experience with PCI Compliance issues
